Our Center for Nonviolence celebrated its 26th Anniversary on Saturday, May 5th. Joshua Shurley, our M.C. did a good job of keeping the program on time – not easy to do sometimes!
We were honored to introduce our 2018 Way of Peace Awards:
- Adult: Ellen Bush; Reza Nekumanesh.
- Organization: Fresno Chapter of Veterans for Peace.
- Our Youth awards went to three amazing young women, Yasmin Mendoza; Elizabeth Grubb; Joanne Park, for organizing the March for Our Lives in Fresno.
After delicious potluck refreshments, we were treated to a talk by our keynote speaker David Hartsough on “Waging Peace: Continuing our Commitment to the Struggle for Peace and Justice in the Trump era.” Special thanks go to photographer, Sarah Amireh, who kindly stepped in at the last minute.
